What Christmas Is
Luke 2:10-11 KJV
[10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
a. It shouldn’t be a time of carrying on in sin of indulgence in debauchery, in immortality, in boisterous partying and clubbing.
b. Christmas season should be a time of solemn joy and celebration, because God sent His son Jesus Christ to redeem the world from sin and everlasting punishment in hell.
c. Christmas season should a time of showing acts of mercy
and kindness. A time of reaching out to the vulnerable: the poor, the fatherless and the widows amongst us.
d. Christmas season should be a time to pause and reflect on one’s life, a time to repent of our sins, a time to amend the errors of our ways and a time to forgive others and to seek forgiveness from those we’ve injured, too.
